| (2) | The National Institute for Environmental Studies (hereinafter referred to as "the Institute") shall provide services on the GOSAT-2 Project site and GOSAT-2 Product Archive site (hereinafter referred to as "the Site"). We collect user information on the Site to the extent necessary for the smooth operation of the services, including information provision, reception of inquiries, etc. We will handle the collected information appropriately within the scope of the purpose of use. |
2. Personal Information Protection Policy

3. Scope of Information to be Collected
| (1) | The service of the Site uses authentication using an e-mail address and password. The information required for user registration is as follows. |

| (2) | When applying for registration as an authorized user*, information certifying eligibility as an authorized user needs to be presented in addition to the information required for general user registration in 3. (1) above. |
| (3) | The Site automatically collects information such as access date and time, IP address, and on browsing of the Site. Note that Cookies (information sent from the server to the user's browser and stored on the user's computer in order to identify the user on the server side) are not used for anything other than accurately tracking the number of accesses and improving the convenience of the browser display function. | (4) | When accepting inquiries, we may ask you to enter your name, institution/affiliation, telephone number, e-mail address, etc. as necessary. |

4. Purpose of Use
The collected information will be used for the following purposes.
| (1) | Information collected in 3 (1) above will be used for the services provided by the Site. | |
| (2) | Information collected in 3 (1) and (4) above will be used as a reference for the smooth operation of the services provided by the Site. | |
| - Providing information from the GOSAT-2 Project of the National Institute for Environmental Studies. | ||
| - Responding to inquiries or contacting for confirmation. In addition, depending on the content of the inquiry, the e-mail address etc. may be forwarded to the related departments in the Institute, and related ministries and agencies, etc. | ||
| (3) | Information obtained in 3 (2) above will be used only for confirming the permissions of the authorized user. In addition, it will not be used for the service on the Site. | |
| (4) | Information collected in 3 (3) above will be used as reference for analyzing usage tendencies of users in order to improve the convenience of the services provided by the Site. | |
